This is an effort to create a repository for information pertaining to the van Alderwerelt, van Alderwerelt Houtuyn, van Alderwerelt van Rosenburgh and de Roo van Alderwerelt families, as well as several related families. It is my intent to add to the genealogies, write additional articles and stories based on ongoing research, as well as add pictures to the picture gallery. It will always be a work in progress, with the latest update timestamp displayed on the home page.
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed information, background material and ideas. In particular, I wish to thank Maarten Timmer, residing in Bali, Indonesia, who has allowed me to share in the results of his extensive research concerning family members who served in the VOC and in the colonial army in the Dutch East Indies.
